UNITE HERE Brings 20,000 Hospitality Workers in Solidarity with Students

To the Canadian Federation of Students,

I am writing to share UNITE HERE Canada’s endorsement of the CFS’s upcoming National Day of Action on Wednesday, November 2, 2016.

UNITE HERE Canada represents approximately 20,000 hospitality workers across Canada. Our members have worked together and organized with our community allies and supporters to turn low-wage, precarious service jobs into middle-class, “good jobs” with a fair wage, decent benefits and job security.

However, we know it’s not enough just to win in our workplaces. We know we must organize together with our allies to build a more fair and just world, and that includes the fight for universal, accessible and public post-secondary education.

In Solidarity,

Nick Worhaug

Canadian Director and International Vice President UNITE HERE Canada
