The Government of Manitoba, under the leadership of Prime Minister Brian Pallister, has removed the cap on tuition fees for Manitoba students. Universities will be permitted to hike undergraduate students' tuition fees by 5% per year, plus inflation. This is a massive step backwards for Manitoba. Post-secondary education in Manitoba has long been among the most accessible in Canada because of the Protecting Affordability Act. The Government must expand the act to include international, graduate, college and professional programs. Affordable and accessible education benefits all Manitobans.
Students in Manitoba are declaring “Education for All!” and organizing to stop the hikes. We need your help!
